Councillor Sarah Nicmanis

As an active, enthusiastic and proud member of the Cambridge Green Party for over ten years, Sarah Nicmanis is now very excited to be your Green city councillor for the ward of Coleridge. Cambridge has been Sarah's home for nearly 25 years where she has worked both as a teacher and in the housing sector in which she observed the inequality of opportunity that is rife in our internationally-renowned city. Sarah is now seeing Cambridge through the eyes of a parent while raising her son in Coleridge with her partner. She says "Here in Cambridge, the obsession with growth has left us with threatened water supplies, a stripped-back green belt, a completely broken transport system, totally unaffordable house prices and shocking inequality. We are the only party that is challenging business as usual and our support is growing. In Coleridge, we Greens have a track record of listening to the residents' concerns about housing, transport and the cost of living and forming our policy and responses on the council accordingly.
