Should the Council provide a free gas safety inspection where leases or sub leases do not currently require the leaseholder to provide a valid Landlords Gas Certificate.

Decision type: Non-key

Decision status: Withdrawn

Decision due: 11 Jun 2013 by Executive Councillor for Housing and Homelessness

Lead member: Executive Councillor for Housing and Homelessness

Lead director: Director of Resources

Department: Resources

Contact: Chris Brown, Executive Assistant to the Leader and Members Email: chris.brown@cambridge.gov.uk.

Additional Information: Requested for pre-scrutiny by Mrs Best and Mr Sweeney.

Background Information: Some 400 Leasehold dwellings pose a potential Gas Safety Risk as the Council has no evidence of annual inspection records, risk would significantly reduce if we instigate a free annual gas inspection in respect of these properties.
