Background Information: A Home Office Code of Practice recommends an annual review of the Council’s use of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) and its surveillance policy. The report also summarises changes to the Council’s powers to use RIPA. The Council has not used RIPA powers since February 2010.
