Changing the procedures for decisions on some planning policy documents

To approve a process for decisions on specific planning policy documents to be taken by the Executive Councillor following consideration by Area Committees.

Decision type: Non-key

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Wards affected: (All Wards);

Decision due: 26 Jun 2012 by Executive Councillor for Planning, Building Control, and Infrastructure

Lead member: Executive Councillor for Planning, Building Control, and Infrastructure

Lead director: Director of Environment

Department: Planning Services

Contact: Email: patsy.dell@cambridge.gov.uk.

Additional Information: Pre scrutiny requested by Councillor Marchant-Daisley and Councillor Owers.

Background Information: The Council has a commitment to devolving decision making to area committees. There are some local, area specific planning policy documents such as planning and development briefs that could more sensibly be dealt with by the Executive Councillor and the relevant area committee rather than by the Development Plan Scrutiny Sub-Committee. This report seeks to agree criteria to devolve such decisions.
