Background Information: Cambs HIA commissions up to £3m worth of adaptation works each year across Cambridge City, South Cambridgeshire, and Huntingdonshire. In accordance with the public sector procurement regulations and due to the value of works exceeding £4m, the council is obliged to seek approval from the Scrutiny Committee and Executive Councillor to tender the works. The Bathroom and Kitchens contract is due to expire on 31.10.2025 and the Equipment contracts are due to expire on 31.03.2026 and therefore approval is required to proceed with the tender process. The contract work is funded through the government’s annual allocation of Disabled Facility Grant funds and forms part of the district council’s statutory requirement to enable adaptations to the homes of disabled residents.
