Background Information: The Council adopted a Flag Protocol in 2019 to be clear on which flags would be flown over the Guildhall at certain points in the year. The protocol contains flags both derived from national guidance and from local decision. By maintaining the flag protocol the Council is transparent about the flags it will fly. Since the last update, councillors have suggested a small number of additional flags be flown to demonstrate the Council's support for particular communities or causes. This report recommends updating the Flag Protocol accordingly.
