Background Information: The council's Statement of Community Involvement explains how the council will consult with and involve residents, business, community groups and interested parties in the planning process. All local planning authorities must prepare a Statement of Community Involvement as defined by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (which received minor amendments through the Localism Act 2011). The Statement of Community Involvement 2013 is intended to update and replace the council’s existing Statement of Community Involvement, adopted in 2007.
