Plans, policies and strategies
The development, implementation and monitoring of the Council’s plans, policies and strategies relating to:
· City strategies including on the city centre, economic development and training, tourism, and partnerships with the Universities (management, staff and students)
· Neighbourhood enterprise co-ordination
· Economic recovery and business liaison
· Encouraging a range of job opportunities for local people
· Encouraging educational attainment and opportunity including region of learning
· Workers’ rights and external trade union liaison
· community wealth-building and social value
· Promote circular economy
·
Ensure that the climate and biodiversity emergencies are considered
in all initiatives in their portfolio and ensure their portfolio
contributes towards Cambridge becoming a zero carbon
city
Community Safety and Policing
· Councillor lead and representative on the Community Safety Partnership and city policing priority setting, and work with Cambridge police and the Police and Crime Commissioner.
· Responsibility for the CCTV system.
· Working with Lead Councillor on Community Safety andthe Council’s representative on the countywidePolice and Crime Panel.
The relevant exercise of compulsory purchase powers.
