The Civic Affairs and Audit
Committee comprises seven councillors.
The committee is responsible
for
·
undertaking miscellaneous non-executive functions
not falling in the remit of other Regulatory Committees including functions
relating to elections, the name and status of areas and individuals and other
miscellaneous functions.
·
providing those charged with Governance (Full
Council) independent assurance on the adequacy of the risk management
framework, the internal control environment and the integrity of the Council’s
financial reporting and governance processes.
·
promoting good governance, advise the Council on
the ethical framework and determine standards complaints.
·
publishing an annual report on the work of the
Committee, including a conclusion on the compliance with the CIPFA Position
Statement.
