Appointments to Committee Places and Chairs/Vice-Chairs of Committee's
Final report to follow Civic Affairs & Audit Committee meeting.
Minutes:
Councillor Thornburrow proposed and Councillor Moore seconded the following amendments to the Committee membership:
Resolved (unanimously) to:
i. Approve the additional seat on the Services, Climate and Communities Overview Scrutiny Committee and the Planning Committee.
Councillor Bennett proposed herself as Chair to the Performance, Assets and Scrutiny Committee for municipal year 2026/27, seconded by Councillor Davison.
Councillor Bick proposed Councillor Young as Chair to the Performance, Assets and Scrutiny Committee, seconded by Councillor Martinelli.
As more than one nomination was received, Members proceeded to vote on each candidate. The results were as follows:
Councillor Bennett: 12 Votes
Councillor Young: 27 Votes
Resolved (27 votes to 12, with 1 abstention) that:
Councillor Young be elected Chair of the Performance, Assets and Scrutiny Committee for 2026/27.
Councillor Bennett proposed and Councillor Tong seconded Councillor Toye Scot as Vice Chair to the Civic Affairs and Audit Committee.
Councillor Bick advised of the withdrawal of Councillor Dalzell’s nomination for Vice-Chair of the Civic Affairs and Audit Committee.
Resolved that:
Councillor Toye Scott be elected as Vice Chair of the Civic Affairs and Audit Committee for 2026/27.
Councillor Bennett then proposed and Councillor Davinson seconded Councillor Sage as Vice Chair to the Licensing Committee for municipal year 2026/27.
Councillor Bick proposed Councillor Blackburn-Horgan as Vice Chair to the Licensing Committee, seconded by Councillor Dalzell.
As more than one nomination was received, Members proceeded to vote on each candidate. The results were as follows:
Councillor Sage: 12 Votes
Councillor Blackburn Horgan: 27 Votes
Resolved (27 votes to 12, with 1 abstention) that:
Councillor Blackburn-Horgan be elected Vice Chair of the Licensing Committee for 2026/27.
