Cambridge City Council, as the Licensing Authority, is required to discharge its responsibilities under the Gambling Act 2005 with a view to promoting the three licensing objectives, namely;

·      Preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime;

·      Ensuring that gambling was conducted in a fair and open way; and

·      Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.

 

The Statement of Gambling Policy was required to be reviewed every three years. The Statement of Gambling Policy would be referred to Full Council for final approval.

 

Resolved (unanimously) to:

i.               Endorse the post-consultation draft Statement of Gambling Principles shown in Appendix A of the Officer’s report and recommended to Full Council that the Statement is approved for publication.
