The Committee received a report from the Project Officer regarding the Environmental Improvement Programme (EIP). The report outlined the newly submitted schemes for 2023/24.

The report provided information on eligibility, funding criteria and funding budgets for the Environmental Improvement Programme.

Members were advised that there had been very little resident support for project WC12-2024 (Windsor Road), with many negative comments received. Councillors agreed that this project should not be taken forward and to allocate the funding elsewhere.

After consideration the Committee agreed to recommend that the funding for WC12 should be transferred to project WC7-2024 (Neighbourhood Access to Christs Pieces).

The Project Officer stated the comments made by Members regarding the amended list of projects would be considered and re-proposed to the relevant scrutiny committee for final comment, before reporting to the Executive Councillor for Open Spaces and City Services for their final decision.  Projects would be taken forward when resources allow, likely during 2024, subject to delivery resource available and local consultation.
