Approval of Street Trading Fees 2013/14

Decision Maker: Licensing Committee

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The Committee is requested to consider the responses to the recent consultation on the proposed street trading fees for 2013/14 and to approve the fees to be implemented from 1st April 2013.

Decisions:

The committee received a report from the Head of Tourism and City Centre Management regarding the approval of street trading fees for 2013/14.

It was noted that the fees for future years may need to be reviewed in light of a recent court case, which has considered the issue of whether enforcement costs could or could not be included in the cost recovery calculation.

In response to a question regarding the response rate to the consultation, the Head of Tourism and City Centre Management advised that virtually all the street traders had attended the previous meeting of the Licensing Committee, and were very supportive of the proposals.

Resolved (Unanimously) to

i.        Note the response to the consultation.

ii.       Approve the fees (as per the committee report) for street trading consents for the year 2013-2014
