Background Information: The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 allows the Council to fix the rates or fares within the district as well for time as distance, and all other charges in connection with the hire of a vehicle... by means of a table. Members are being asked to consider: i) the application of a Fare Increase ii) for the implementation of an automatic annual review of Hackney Carriage Fares iii) that payment by card should be a condition of/ for all vehicles/ proprietors
